Police: Truck delivering blood collides with motorcycle

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland Police are investigating how a delivery truck and a motorcycle collided Sunday morning. 

According to police, at 2:41 a.m. officers were responding to a suspicious call near N. Williams Ave. and N. Monroe St. when they came upon an unrelated crash. 

Police said the crash involved a motorcycle and a delivery truck. 

Upon investigating, they learned that the delivery truck was heading northbound on N. Williams Ave. and took a left turn onto N. Monroe St. when it collided with a motorcycle. 

Police said that the motorcycle riders, an unknown male and a 29-year-old female, were thrown from the motorcycle. The man was said to be suffering from life-threatening injures and the female was seriously injured. 

The delivery truck driver, who was in the process of delivering blood to the Red Cross, suffered non life-threatening injuries. 

The investigation for this crash is ongoing.
