TROUTDALE, OR (KPTV) -

A wildfire burning up a steep hillside led to the closure of Highway 30 on Monday.

The Oregon Department of Transportation said the highway was closed at 1:45 p.m. at Jordan Road near Lewis and Clark State Park due to the fire.

At 3 p.m., ODOT reported the road had reopened as firefighters got control of the fire.

Firefighters said the fire was in difficult terrain and burned about two acres. A helicopter was deployed to help battle the fire.

No structures were threatened.

Deputies said around 25 people were evacuated from Lewis and Clark State Park and from an area above the fire that is popular with rock climbers.

The cause is under investigation. Firefighters said the hillside is popular with climbers and campers.
