CPSC issues recalls for onesies, children's jackets

Posted: Updated:

Parents need to be on the lookout for two clothing recalls issued late last week.

Around 479,000 onesies sold by Precious Cargo are being recalled due to a choking hazard that can occur when snaps on the garment detach.

The item was sold in sizes 6M, 12M and 18M, and in the colors of athletic heather, aquatic blue, candy pink, clover green, jet black, lime, navy, purple, red, royal, sangria, white and yellow, all with an elephant and “Precious Cargo” on the item’s tag.

While there has yet to be any injuries, the Consumer Products Safety Commission advises that consumers should stop using the item immediately, and call 888-770-7018 from 5:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m PT Monday through Friday, or log on to PreciousCargoKids.com.

A jacket sold by The Children’s Place is also being recalled as a choking hazard.

About 13,700 jackets in the U.S, and another 2,200 in Canada, are part of the recall.

The jacket is the knitted fleece boys “Varsity” jacket, sizes 6 months to 5T. The garments are royal blue with gray sleeves with a baseball character in a red hat on the left chest. The tag on the neck of the jacket reads “The Children’s Place, and a white sewn-in label on the side seem has product numbers 158805, 158806, 158807 and vendor number 1408.

The CPSC warns that consumers should immediately take the item from children and return to any Children’s Place store for a refund. They can also call 877-752-2387 from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. PT Monday through Friday, or log on to ChildrensPlace.com for more information.
