Motorcycle rider involved in August 9 crash dies from injuries

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The Portland Police Bureau announced Tuesday that one of the motorcycle riders involved in last Sunday’s crash on North Williams Avenue and North Monroe Street has died from his injuries.

The rider was identified as 32-year-old Robert Gabriel. His passenger, 29-year-old Tasheena Kuehl, remains in the hospital and expected to survive.

At 2:45 a.m. on August 9, North Precinct officers came upon the crash while responding to an unrelated suspicious person call near the area.

Officers learned that a delivery truck driver was heading northbound on North Williams Avenue and took a left turn onto North Monroe Street when it collided with a motorcycle.

The truck driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries,

The crash remains under investigation by the East County Major Crash Team.
