Boil water advisory lifted for 1,000 homes in Oregon City

OREGON CITY, OR (KPTV) -

A boil water advisory that was issued as a precaution for about 1,000 homes in Oregon City was lifted Wednesday morning.

Clackamas River Water issued the advisory Tuesday after someone tampered with a fire hydrant in a gated community on South Kraeft Road, triggering a drop in water pressure.

That drop in pressure could have allowed bacteria to enter the water system.

There was no evidence of contamination, but Clackamas River Water issued the boil water advisory as a precaution.

The agency said Wednesday morning that test results were negative for any contamination and the water was safe to drink.

Clackamas River Water recommends customers flush their pipes by running faucets for a few minutes.
