PACIFIC CITY, OR (KPTV) -

The body of a drowning victim discovered on the Oregon coast has been identified as a missing man from Benton County.

A hiker spotted the body in the area of McPhillips Beach north of Cape Kiwanda in Tillamook County at 8 a.m. Monday.

The medical examiner identified the man as Sean Yamaguchi, 22, who had been reported missing out of Benton County on July 29. His death was ruled a drowning.

Investigators said Yamaguchi was assumed to be with his girlfriend, 18-year-old Elise Dickey of Corvallis, who was also reported missing.

Her Toyota pickup truck was found at the north end of the beach at Cape Kiwanda after the sheriff's office received a complaint on July 28 that it had been parked there for several days.

An extensive search of the area was launched. However, no sign of them was found and the search was suspended on Aug. 3.

Dickey still has not been located.

The Tillamook County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the events leading to Yamaguchi's death and Dickey's disappearance, but not further details were released Wednesday.
