Inmate who walked away from Stouts Creek Fire crew back in custody

An inmate who walked away from a mobile camp at the Stouts Creek Fire on Aug. 9 is back in custody.

Medford Police said they arrested Kenneth Polchowski on Wednesday around 8:30 p.m.

The Oregon Department of Corrections said that Polchowski went missing around 6 a.m. on Aug. 9 after a routing count.

According to police, Polchowski entered DOC custody in January on four counts of identity theft, one count of theft and one count of burglary. 

No other information is available at this time.
