PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

There's a museum located in Portland and it's not your average art or history museum.

The Outbreak Museum is dedicated to educating people on food poisoning outbreaks and now people can check it out online.

Inside the museum there are items from major Salmonella and E. coli outbreaks from around the world.

People will find info on the large 2007 peanut butter outbreak or a 1993 milk contamination.

Officials said the museum is designed for food safety experts and those interested in the investigative process.

"There's a lot to be learned from these outbreaks, and we don't want that history to be lost on people," said Dr. Paul Cieslak, medical director of Oregon's immunization program.
