GRANT COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

An 18-year-old driver died in a rollover crash on Highway 26 in Grant County.

Emergency crews responded to Milepost 152 at 5:12 a.m. Saturday. Investigators said a Toyota 4-Runner was heading east on the highway when the driver lost control, veered off the road, rolled and came to a stop in a nearby field.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the SUV, according to police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said a 15-year-old passenger wearing a seat belt was not injured.

The teens have not been identified by troopers.

Oregon State Police reported that alcohol is being investigated as a contributing factor in the crash.
