Police continue to investigate after ending a standoff at a southeast Portland home Sunday night.

The Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) and crisis negotiators responded to a home in the 300 block of Southeast 157th Avenue around 8 p.m.

Police believe a woman fired a gun several times at another woman inside the home.

The woman was not hit by the gunfire and she was able to escape the home.

Around 10:30 p.m., officers abandoned the standoff and left the scene.

Police said they didn't believe there was any risk to the community. They planned to follow up at another time.
