BROWNSVILLE, OR (KPTV) -

A guitar stolen from Rascal Flatts at the Willamette Country Music Festival has been returned and the band is requesting no criminal charges be filed against the pair who took it.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office said the guitar was reported stolen Friday night during the weekend festival in Brownsville.

Rascal Flatts headlined the main stage on Friday.

Detectives received information about possible suspects – a 19-year-old man from Eugene and a 17-year-old girl from Junction City – shortly after the theft occurred.

A detective met with the 19-year-old in Eugene on Sunday evening and took possession of the guitar, which appeared to be undamaged.

Both suspects have been cooperative with investigators, according to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, and representatives for Rascal Flatts requested no criminal prosecution for the pair, as long as the custom guitar was returned unharmed.

"Willamette Country Music Festival administration staff was instrumental in the successful resolution of this investigation," according to a sheriff's office release.

No details were released about how the suspects were able to steal the guitar.
