GRESHAM, OR (KPTV) -

Gresham Police and medical personal responded to a crash on 16300 block of Northeast Glisan Street early Tuesday morning.

According to Gresham Police, residents in the area heard the crash and called 911.

Medics were able to arrive first and found a green 2001 Jaguar convertible that had crashed into a light pole on the south end of the road.

The driver of the car was a male, 54, and was the only one in the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say that the Vehicular Crimes team was called in to investigate the crash.

The initial investigation shows that the car was traveling westbound on NE Glisan Street and crashed into a light pole after it crossed the center lane and eastbound lanes of traffic.

The driver was not wearing a seatbelt during the crash, and neither speed nor alcohol appear to be contributing factors.

Driver information is not being released pending family notification.

If anyone saw the car prior to the crash or actually witnessed the crash, please contact Ofc. Scott McFarland at 503-618-3155
