Man arrested in Craigslist scam involving bogus comedy show tickets

HILLSBORO, OR (KPTV) -

Hillsboro detectives arrested Derrick Deshawn Boss, 37, for a Craigslist scam involving bogus comedy show tickets on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, authorities were alerted by a victim of a theft of 300 dollars.

Officials say she had purchased tickets to an upcoming Kevin Hart show at the Moda Center through Craigslist.

After giving Boss the money for the two tickets, she realized the tickets were fake and called police.

Hillsboro detectives arranged to meet the suspect in a parking lot on 188th and Tanasborne Drive in Hillsboro to purchase tickets from him. 

When Boss came to the parking lot, he was arrested for two counts of Theft by Deception.

Boss is from Seattle may have committed similar crimes in the Portland area, and detectives are interested in speaking with any other victims that may have been scammed by him.
