Portland Fire and Rescue responded to an apartment fire at 5148 SE 17th Ave Wednesday evening.
Initial reports said that there was smoke coming out of one of the windows of a first floor apartment, and neighbors believed no one was living in that unit at the time.
One person tried to go into the unit, but decided not to after the door felt hot.
Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the fire and evacuate the tenants who were above and on either side of the unit on fire.
Four people were displaced by the fire, and no one was injured.
Those who were displaced by the fire are being assisted by the Red Cross.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
