Another #ShellNo protest took place in Portland Thursday, but this time it was on land at a gas station.

Demonstrators protested at the shell station on Southwest Capitol Highway, saying they held the rally because the station cut down trees on the property so that people could see the store better.

The group brought tombstones and #ShellNo kayaks to protest the removal of the trees and to also protest shell's drilling in the Arctic.

Organizers said they were upset to see the trees cut down in their neighborhood.

"Especially in a place like Portland where we care about our trees so much,” protester Justin Norton-Kertson said. “It was really disheartening. A lot of the neighbors are really upset about it and we decided we needed to bring some awareness to the issue."

Thursday’s protest comes a month after a group of Greenpeace activists tried stopping an icebreaker ship from making it's to Alaska by hanging from the St. Johns Bridge.
