PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland Police and Gang Enforcement Team officers are investigating a shooting and crash that left one person injured on Thursday night.

The shooting happened at North Vancouver Avenue and Holman Street around 8:07 p.m.

When officers arrived to the area they found one man suffering from non life-threatening injuries. The man was taken to a Portland hospital and is expected to survive.

An investigation revealed the victim, Jaelan Sarray Reid, 21, was a passenger in a car driving in the area when someone in a car in front of him fired multiple shots at car, causing the driver to swerve and crash into a pole.

Police said the driver, Devario Preston, 18, and a 15-year-old passenger were not injured in the shooting or crash.

The Reid's injuries were the result of the crash, not the shooting.

Police said suspect was an African American man, wearing a gray or white tank top. He may have been with another person as they ran south on North Charleston Ave. after the shooting.

Anyone who witnessed this shooting is asked to call the Police Non-Emergency Line at (503) 823-3333.
