BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

A man's body was discovered by firefighters inside a burning Aloha duplex late Saturday night.

Multiple people called 911 to report hearing an explosion at 11:52 p.m. on the 19000 block of Teddi Rose Court

Prior to firefighters arriving, Washington County Sheriff's Deputies notified neighbors to evacuate their homes.

Firefighters from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue's Aloha station were the first to arrive on scene and found a garage door in the roadway and heavy flames coming from the garage and a second-story window.

Crews worked to get the exterior flames under control and then went inside. Once in the home, firefighters found heavy flames coming from the second floor and methodically worked their way up the stairs to control the fire.

Once on the second floor, they found a man's body. The medical examiner was called out and is working with law enforcement to identify the victim.

Investigators are examining evidence and burn patterns to determine the exact cause of the fire.

Three people who lived in an adjoining unit have been displaced from their home and are being assisted by the Red Cross.

Around two dozen firefighters responded to the fire.
