A 20-year-old woman was shot at King School Park in northeast Portland on Monday afternoon.

Officers responded to Northeast 6th Avenue near Alberta Street at around noon after several people called 9-1-1 to report gunfire and vehicles speeding away from the area.

Police said they found a woman on 6th Avenue south of Prescott Street with a gunshot injury to her hand. Her injuries were not life-threatening, according to officers.

Investigators learned the 20-year-old victim, identified as Annastasia Madison, was sitting in the park with two males when someone in an SUV fired multiples shots at the group. No other gunshot injuries were reported.

The suspect vehicle is described as a light-colored, smaller SUV, with multiple black males inside.

The Gang Enforcement Team was called out to investigate.

Police said Grand Avenue was closed between Humboldt and Going streets because of the investigation.

According to court records, Madison was indicted on July 15 on two counts of tampering with a witness. She pleaded not guilty and is due back in court Friday.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Detective Bryan Declercque at 503-823-2056, bryan.declercque@portlandoregon.gov.
