DETROIT LAKE, OR (KPTV) -

The Kinney Fire that has been burning near Detroit Lake since Thursday is now 100 percent contained.

The Willamette National Forest announced Monday that crews were knocking out the last remaining hotspots after the fire was mopped up 200 feet in from the fire perimeter over the weekend.

The fire had burned 12 acres by Friday and produced smoke visible from Highway 22, Highway 46 and the community of Detroit.

No firefighters were injured battling the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A log truck driver reported the fire on Willamette National Forest lands at 3 a.m. Thursday.

Kinney Creek Road will remain closed just south of Detroit Dam. There have been reports of snags and falling rocks due to unstable conditions created by the fire.

The Detroit Ranger District will evaluate the area next week.

Drivers are urged to use caution on Highway 22 near Detroit as there may still be fire traffic in the area.
