Police: Beaverton motorcycle officer responding to crash hit by car

BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

A Beaverton motorcycle officer responding to reports of a crash was hit by a car and taken to the hospital Tuesday.

The officer was hit on Southwest Denney Road between Southwest 103rd Avenue and Scholls Ferry Road at 9:34 a.m., according to a Beaverton Police Department spokesman.

The officer was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment of injuries described as non-life threatening. He was identified as Officer Ryan Mills, who has been with the department for 24 years.

There were no reports of other injuries.

Roads were closed in the area for several hours while investigators were at the scene.
