Health advisory lifted at Seal Rock State Park Beach in Lincoln Co.

Lincoln County, OR (KPTV) -

A health advisory has been lifted after testing showed fecal bacteria levels have subsided at Seal Rock State Park Beach in Lincoln County.

The Oregon Health Authority issued the advisory on Aug. 11 after water samples showed higher-than-normal levels of fecal bacteria in the ocean waters.

Samples taken by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality showed bacteria levels have subsided and the water no longer poses a risk associated with water contact activities.

However, OHA officials recommend staying out of large pools on the beach that are frequented by birds, and runoff from those pools, because the water may contain increased bacteria from fecal matter.
