PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A man was arrested at the Multnomah County Central Library in downtown Portland with a stolen gun, according to police.

Officers were called to the library at 801 S.W. 10th Ave. at 12:55 p.m. Wednesday. A witness reported seeing a man drop a handgun outside the library, pick it up, put it into a bag and then go inside the building.

Responding officers were updated that a Multnomah County Sheriff's Office deputy had the suspect detained and took possession of the bag and the gun.

Investigators determined the handgun was reported stolen.

Police said the suspect, identified as 47-year-old Tyrone Card, did not threaten anyone during the incident.

He was booked in the Multnomah County Jail on the charges of felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm in a public building, possession of a loaded firearm and aggravated theft.
