SCAPPOOSE, OR (KPTV) -

A van with carrying racers participating in the Hood to Coast relay was involved in a crash near Scappoose.

The “Wonder Women” team was participating in the Portland to Coast route of the event, and were stopped in traffic waiting to get to the exchange point at Scappoose High School when they were rear-ended.

The accident, which happened around 11:30 a.m. on Highway 30 near Havlic Drive, did not seriously impact traffic, according to Cheryl Engstrom with the Scappoose Fire District.

One of the passengers in the vehicle had to be cut out, and she was transported to an area hospital and has been released.

The other team members told Fox 12 that the team is now out of the race.
