Police hand out 88 traffic tickets during Hood to Coast speed enforcement mission

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Multnomah County Sheriff's Office deputies and Portland Police Bureau officers made over 100 traffic stops during a joint speed enforcement mission on Friday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

A total of 88 citations were issued. The majority of them were for speeding.

Other citations issued included driving while suspended, failure to maintain safe distance from an emergency vehicle and cell phone and seat belt violations.

The extra patrols were on Highway 30 from Kittridge Avenue to Watson Road. 

After the speed enforcement mission ended, officers worked along the Springwater Trail to provide additional security for Hood to Coast participants.
