EUGENE, OR (KPTV) -

Police arrested a 19-year-old in connection with the shooting death of a 17-year-old at a Eugene apartment.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment on Commons Drive early Sunday morning and found Justin Gardner, 17, dead.

Police considered Gardner's death a homicide and sought three 19-year-old persons of interest.

Eugene police said officers arrested Zachary Aristotle Beauchamp around 8 p.m. Sunday.

He faces a charge of first-degree manslaughter.

Police said Sean Edward Jones, 19, also discharged a gun in the incident, but he isn't facing any charges, pending a review by the Lane County District Attorney's Office.

Police had initially sought Mariah Morphew, 19, as part of the investigation. Police said she was no longer a person of interest.

According to the Lane County Jail website, Beauchamp was arrested twice in 2014 on assault charges.
