YAMHILL COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

Two men accused of stealing at least three ATVs were arrested in rural Yamhill County.

Deputies responded to the 24000 block of Mt. Richmond Road in Yamhill on Aug. 18 on the report of a stranger on the property.

Andrew Richter, 25, was detained at the scene. A search of the property led to a second suspect, Richard Oster, 24, who was hiding under a motorhome, according to deputies.

Investigators learned an ATV was stolen from an adjacent property the previous day. Further investigation led deputies to connect that theft to Richter and Oster, as well as an additional ATV theft that occurred on Turner Creek Road the same day.

Both stolen ATVs were recovered by deputies.

Deputies said a third stolen ATV taken from a rural McMinnville property was also recovered from Oster's home on May Yocum Road in Sheridan. That theft occurred Aug. 12.

Parts had been removed from that ATV and investigators said it had been repainted in an effort to conceal it.

Richter and Oster were booked in the Yamhill County Jail on charges of theft, burglary and unauthorized use of a vehicle. Additional charges are expected, according to a Yamhill County Sheriff's Office release on Monday.

Richter is also being held in connection to an unrelated Washington County case.
