PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

An armed robber is on the loose after holding up a southeast Portland bar.

At 2:30 a.m. Monday, right before closing, a man confronted the bartender at The Hidden East Tavern with a gun.

All of the customers were gone, except for Dale Crawford.

Crawford told FOX 12 he walked out of the bathroom and saw the armed man demanding money.

Crawford said he and the bartender tried to stay calm and do what they were told.

“I was thinking, well, odds are he’s not going to kill us if we give him everything he wants," Crawford said. “Then he proceeded to send us both to the corner, tied our wrists and we sat in the corner."

"'Don’t look at me’, he kept saying," Crawford added.

Crawford said the robber tried to find keys to the video poker machines and the cash register, but he eventually had to untie the bartender so she could help him.

The man got away with an unknown amount of cash, according to police.

The suspect is described as a white man, about 5’9’’, around 30 years old with a goatee and he was wearing a dark colored hoodie.

Tavern employees say they’ve given police surveillance video of the incident.
