TURNER, OR (KPTV) -

A big congratulations to students and teachers from Turner Elementary School who was featured on Tuesday night’s episode of Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?

Ten-thousand dollars was on the line for the school if the contestant answered this question correctly:

"Which of the following cities are closest in distance? Boston and San Diego? Las Vegas and Baltimore? Or Austin and Minneapolis?"

The student chose the correct answer, Austin and Minneapolis, and Turner Elementary won the ten-thousand dollar prize.

The segment was actually taped in January, so the kids who took part knew the outcome of the show, but the parents did not.

Turner Elementary was chosen to be on the show because it was recognized as a ‘National Title-1 Distinguished School’.
