PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

In May 2013, a Portland woman taken to Hawaii for prostitution was murdered by a U.S. Marine. Now, the man who took her there has been sentenced to three years in prison.

Mark Miles Jr. pleaded guilty in federal court in March to the charge of interstate travel with intent to engage in prostitution.

Miles was one of eight suspected Portland area pimps charged with violating the Mann Act and the Travel Act in January 2014 by transporting women to Hawaii, Alaska, Nevada, Idaho and Minnesota for prostitution.

Prosecutors said Miles was the pimp of Ivanice "Ivy" Harris for 10 years, with as many as seven other prostitutes working for him at one point in 2012.

In May 2013, Harris' body was found in a remote area more than 30 miles west of Waikiki. Family members said she was in Waikiki to celebrate her 29th birthday with her "boyfriend," Miles.

Harris' mother told FOX 12 in 2013 that her daughter was four weeks pregnant when she was killed.

Nathaniel Cosby, an explosive ordnance disposal technician with the Marine Corps, was arrested for Harris' death and eventually found guilty on the charge of murder while engaging in an inherently dangerous act following a court martial in April 2014.  He was dishonorably discharged and sentenced to life in prison.

Miles was sentenced to three years in federal prison Wednesday, along with five years post-prison supervision.
