ALOHA, OR (KPTV) -

Deputies are still trying to determine why a driver plowed into a line of cars at a stoplight on TV Highway causing a seven-car pile up and killing one woman.

Now one driver in the middle of the chaos told FOX 12 she thinks a higher power was protecting her.

"The whole time, I'm like please lord, no, no, no, no because it was like slow motion. And I knew he was coming into my truck."

Becky Collins was stopped at the intersection of 185th and TV Highway at 7 p.m. on Tuesday when she looked in he rearview mirror and saw a chain reaction crash coming straight for her.

Deputies said the driver of a GMC pickup failed to put on the brakes when he slammed into a line of cars.

20-year-old Cassandra Stolzenberger was the passenger in one of cars hit and she died at the scene.

Collins was driving her bright yellow truck and she did get hit, but she is amazed that she wasn't seriously hurt or trapped inside.

Collins said she's grateful to be alive but she's devastated for the other victims.

"We all don't know when our time is going to be here. That little girl is 20-years-old? That's so sad. I just hope she didn't suffer and didn't have a lot of pain and I hope she was unconscious when this happened. But everyone has to stop, slow down and take a breather."

The driver of the pickup that caused the accident was 45-year-old Kerry Wagner from Hillsboro.

Police said he showed no signs of impairment, he is cooperating, but they are still waiting on toxicology tests and other evidence.
