PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A man who once stopped a bank robbery is now facing charges for allegedly holding up a bank.

In court on Tuesday, Mark Rothwell, 49, pleaded guilty to charges of armed bank robbery and use of a firearm while committing a violent crime.

In February, Rothwell robbed the Albina Community Bank in NE Portland at gunpoint.

A police K-9 tracked him down helping officers arrest him.

Back in 2010, police gave Rothwell a medal for stopping a would-be bank robber inside the Hollywood Fred Meyer store.

Rothwell will be sentenced on Dec. 9.
