ESTACADA, OR (KPTV) -

Emergency crews conducted a high-angle rope rescue operation to reach a fisherman who fell from an Estacada cliff and badly injured his leg.

Estacada firefighters responded to the 33000 block of Southeast Faraday Road at 9 a.m. Thursday.

Firefighters said a man fishing with a group along the Clackamas River attempted to reach a spot that ran near a steep cliff.

The man fell and was believed to have suffered a broken leg, according to firefighters.

At 11:30 a.m., crews were still working to bring the man up as an ambulance and EMTs waited by the roadside.
