A woman waiting for a bus at Jantzen Beach told police she got into the truck of a man who stopped and offered her a ride, only for the man to refuse to let her out.
Oregon State Police put out a release Wednesday asking for the public's help to identify a possible suspect in this case.
It started at around 2 p.m. Tuesday. The woman told police she was going to Vancouver, but the man drove eastbound on Interstate 84 and refused to let her out.
The driver eventually stopped alongside the highway near Mosier and the woman told investigators she was able to get away.
Troopers said it is believed the man and woman did not know each other. The woman was not injured.
The woman described the driver as a white man, around 50 years old with blond hair, blue eyes and a heavier build. He went by the name Travis.
He was driving a late 80s or early 90s gray extended cab Ford pickup with a lifted suspension.
Anyone who may have seen the Ford pickup parked along I-84 or has any information about this case is asked to contact Detective Lori Rosebraugh at 541-296-9646, extension 5350.
