BANKS, OR (KPTV) -

About 800 people lost power near Banks after a driver's trailer knocked down four power poles.

Bob Ray with the Washington County Sheriffs Office said it happened about 2:30 PM on Roy Road near NW Mountaindale and Harrington.

Ray said it appears the driver failed to notice how high his excavator on the trailer was and hit the wires and dragged the power poles with it. The road is not heavily traveled.

Officials said the road is expected to be closed until 10 to 12 a.m. Please avoid the area.

PGE said power won't be restored until 5 a.m.
