A man caught a burglary suspect in the act and held him in his home until deputies arrived, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to a burglary report in the 4400 block of Northwest Chanticleer Drive in the Bethany neighborhood at 6:20 a.m. Monday.

The victim in this case, a 34-year-old man, said an unknown man came inside his home after prying the screen off of a window.

He said he wrestled with the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Luis Marquez-Ventura, as Marquez-Ventura tried to leave. He managed to keep Marquez-Ventura on the couch until deputies reached the scene, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies arrived and took Marquez-Ventura into custody. Investigators said they located items he had been stacking by the door before he was caught, including a computer.

When the burglary victim caught him, deputies said Marquez-Ventura was holding onto the man's car keys.

Investigators also said they discovered various items Marquez-Ventura was carrying, including sunglasses, debit cards and other items with different people's names on them that appeared to have been stolen from cars.

Deputies searched the area and discovered four vehicles that had been broken into. The items were all returned to their rightful owners, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies said Marquez-Ventura appeared to be highly intoxicated at the time of his arrest.

He was booked in the Washington County Jail on charges of burglary, robbery, theft and unlawful entry into a motor vehicle. His bail was set at $50,000.

Deputies said there would be additional charges related to Marquez-Ventura violating his parole.
