BANDON, OR (KPTV) -

A wildfire burned close to the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort on Monday.

The fire was first reported at around 2:45 p.m. and grew to 30 acres, according to the Coos Forest Protective Association.

The fire produced smoke that could be seen for miles, but the general manager of the world-renowned golf resort said no courses were evacuated.

The fire did burn near the Old MacDonald Golf Course to the north of the main clubhouse, but the resort remained open.

Firefighters said they stopped all forward progress of the fire and had a line around it by Monday evening. Three helicopters were dropping water on the fire at one point.

The fire is believed to be human-caused, but it is not considered suspicious at this time, according to investigators.
