PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A man is in the hospital with severe burns after an apartment fire in Southeast Portland that all started with an after-party.

The victims’ family said Joshua Bigsby poured gasoline inside the apartment and even tried to set the victims on fire.

Arson investigators and Portland Police arrested Bigsby, charging him with six counts of arson, reckless endangerment, assault and criminal mischief.

Family members said Krystal and her longtime partner Mike got a babysitter for their two kids and had a night out at the bar near their apartment.

They met up with friends and another man playing pool and brought them back to their home.

The victim’s cousin, Stacy, said they asked their guests to leave and that’s when an argument started.

Stacy said Bigsby was furious, but they were able to get the group out of the apartment.

She said Bigsby returned later with a gas can and a lighter.

“He kicked in the door, grabbed the gasoline and poured it all over Mike and Crystal and they had the babysitter here too,” the victim’s sister-in-law said.

The family was able to get out alive. Krystal had minor burns, but Mike’s injuries were more severe, with second and third degree burns on 12 percent of his body.
