PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

An employee of UPS is facing theft charges after police said he stole items off a sorting line and then sold them online.

Portland police said the bureau's White Collar Crime Unit began investigating after receiving several reports of UPS packages containing Microsoft products never showing up at their delivery destinations.

Officers said they worked with UPS to determine that an employee at the Swan Island sorting station, Chad Love, 21, was taking items off a sorting line.

Police said Love would hide the items in a restroom, then take them home and the end of the day and sell them online to buyers around the country.

Love was booked in the Multnomah County Jail on five counts of first-degree theft.
