Police: Two people detained after shooting in East Portland

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Officers responded to a report of gunfire at 160th Ave. and East Burnside on Wednesday night.

Police said the call came in around 7:24 p.m.

Police said as officers were responding to the scene, a 911 caller reported seeing a young man running with a gun.

The person was described as an African American man, 18 to 20 years old, wearing a blue t-shirt and tan shorts.

Witnesses described seeing a second African American man in a white t-shirt also running from the area.

Police and the Gang Enforcement Team are on scene and searching for the person seen with the gun.

Police said two people have been detained as part of the investigation. Police also seized one firearm.

An apartment in the 15800 block of East Burnside suffered damage from gunfire.

No injuries were reported.
