PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Officers with the Portland Police Bureau’s Youth Service Division have found and detained a person-of-interest after officers said he rode up to a girl walking home from school and exposed himself.

Officers said the man actually talked to the girl outside Chief Joseph Elementary School in North Portland.

The 10-year-old was headed home near North Denver and Bryant Street Wednesday afternoon when the man came up to her while riding a bike.

PPB investigators said he asked her some questions, then exposed himself. The girl ran right home and told her mother, who then called the police.

Thursday afternoon officers said they detained the person-of-interest, but haven't officially arrested him.

Parents Fox 12 crews spoke with that they have either had the talk with their child about what to do or that they will be having that talk soon.

PPB officers also said there was a second unconfirmed report of the same thing happening near De La Salle North Catholic High School Wednesday. Officers are asking people near that to check their surveillance cameras to see if there is any new information.
