PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A mobile marijuana cart was robbed Thursday morning, and officers have one suspect in custody.

Officers with the Portland Police Bureau’s North Precinct responded to a call of the theft at North Alma Avenue and Willamette Boulevard around 10:20 a.m.

Operators of the Smoke Buddy mobile marijuana cart said that one suspect, an African American male, fled the scene in a dark-colored SUV, while another, a 34-year-old woman, was detained by the cart operator.

The operator told officers he was opening the cart for the day when the two suspects approached and tried to enter. A struggle ensued, and the cart owner said the male suspect showed a knife and ran to the owner’s vehicle, where a second owner was sitting, and grabbed items from the vehicle’s trunk.

The female suspect jumped on the cart owner, then began to swing at him with a stick until the cart owner was able to fight her and the male suspect off, at which point the male suspect ran back to his vehicle and drove away, leaving the female suspect.

The female suspect, Kelly Foster Green, was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of robbery in the first degree and robbery in the second degree, and will be arraigned Friday.

The PPB is asking anyone with information on the robbery to contact Detective Robert Hollins at 503-823-0400 or via email.
