WOODBURN, OR (KPTV) -

Parents, who served as organizers of Mid Valley Youth Baseball in Woodburn, said they have to start all over, after they learned the organization's treasurer, Julia Harmon, embezzled over $8,000 of the groups funding.

"We had vendors reach out at the same time who hadn't received their payments which was concerning," said Danny Peterson, President of the organization.

Peterson said he went to the bank and once he saw the statements, he said he knew something was wrong.

Peterson showed the statements to police, and after further investigation, police arrested Harmon.

"It's depressing, terrible, we were shocked, surprised, nobody expected it, nobody saw any of this coming," said Peterson.

Police said Harmon confessed to stealing over $8,000 from the organization after her arrest.

Her arraignment is set for October, but in the meantime, the group has created a GoFundMe page.
