WOODBURN, OR (KPTV) -

A man who was the focus of complaints for dangerous driving at the Woodburn Dragstrip ran down a man with his Mercedes following a dispute, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to a car show at the Woodburn Dragstrip on Highway 219 on Sunday afternoon.

Deputies said organizers received multiple complaints about Alejandro Del Real, 23, of Newberg, for poor showmanship and driving dangerously during the event.

Witnesses said as Del Real was leaving, he argued with a 37-year-old West Linn man. He then floored his car and hit the victim, according to investigators, sending the man onto the hood of the Mercedes and into the windshield.

Deputies said Del Real then drove away from the scene and was arrested at his home in Newberg. He is facing charges of attempted assault and hit and run, according to the sheriff's office.

The man who was hit by the car suffered minor injuries.
