MOLALLA, OR (KPTV) -

A 21-year-old driver was killed and a young child in her car was seriously injured in a head-on crash after she drifted across the centerline of Highway 211, according to police.

Emergency crews responded to the highway near Bear Meadow Court just west of Molalla at 10 a.m. Monday.

Investigators said a 2002 Toyota Camry was heading westbound on the highway when it drifted into the wrong lane and struck an eastbound GMC pickup.

The driver of the Camry, identified as 21-year-old Rosio Gonzalez of Woodburn, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 21-month-old child was also in the car and was taken to the hospital for injuries described as serious, according to police. The relationship between the woman and child was not immediately confirmed by police.

The driver of the truck, 25-year-old Raymond Johnson of Silverton, also suffered serious injuries in the crash.

Highway 211 was closed for several hours following the crash. The investigation is ongoing, according to Oregon State Police.

Police initially identified the driver who died as an 18-year-old, but later corrected that information.
