Police ID Hillsboro deadly shooting victim; suspect unknown, motive unclear

HILLSBORO, OR (KPTV) -

Police have identified the 34-year-old man from South Carolina who was shot and killed in Hillsboro.

Police responded to reports of shots fired at Southeast Baseline Street near 11th Avenue at 2:20 a.m. Sunday.

Officers arrived and found Alonzo Gregg in the street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Tuesday, police said Gregg, who is from South Carolina, had been staying in Washington County and Multnomah County.

A suspect has not been identified. The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, between 20-25 years old, who was wearing a black shirt. Police said he fired around six rounds from a handgun and ran away northbound on Baseline Street.

A K-9 team searched the area, but a suspect was not located.

Investigators said a motive for the crime has not been established.

Hillsboro Police Department detectives and the Washington County Major Crimes Team are investigating.
