BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

Two 15-year-old boys will be charged as adults for the repeated armed robberies of the same Plaid Pantry store in Beaverton.

Police put out an alert and released surveillance images after the store at 7545 S.W. Oleson Road was targeted by the same armed robbers on Aug. 4 and Aug. 12. Plaid Pantry also offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to arrests.

Police said one suspect physically attacked the clerk during the first robbery and locked him in the bathroom.

Surveillance shows the suspect returned a second time at 2:30 a.m. Aug. 12 with an accomplice who was carrying a fish bat. During the second robbery, police said the employee locked himself in the bathroom to avoid harm.

Someone spotted a flier in Beaverton asking for the public's help in this case and recognized one of the suspects. That information was passed on to police, leading to the arrest of Austin Mendler on Saturday.

The second suspect, Timothy Harris, was arrested Tuesday.

Both Mendler and Harris admitted to committing the robberies, according to the Beaverton Police Department.

They were booked in the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Center on the charge of first-degree robbery. Their names were released because they are facing a Measure 11 charge.

"We would like to thank the community for the assistance they provided on this investigation," a Beaverton Police Department release states. "This is a prime example of how the community and police working together makes our home safer."
