TILLAMOOK, OR (KPTV) -

A man who escaped from custody in Tillamook was arrested four days later in Utah.

The Oregon Youth Authority and Oregon State Police asked for the public's help locating Joshua Garvin on Saturday.

The 22-year-old escaped from the Tillamook Youth Correction Facility. He was in custody for sex offenses and was sentenced before he turned 18 years old. OYA can keep a youth offender until their 25th birthday.

Garvin escaped sometime after noon Saturday, according to police.

On Wednesday, police in Provo, Utah received a tip that Garvin was at a shelter in their city. When officers arrived, they said Garvin ran away.

He was caught and arrested following a brief chase.

Garvin will remain in custody in Utah pending extradition back to Oregon.

No other details were immediately released about this investigation.
