PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A former Oregonian embarked on a remarkable journey along the Pacific Crest Trail, and did something unique along the way.

Andy Davidhazy hiked the 2,600 mile trail and took one selfie every single mile of his hike.

He created a four minute timelapse video that captured his transformation along the way.

The YouTube video now has 1.5 million views.

Over the course of his travel, Davidhazy lost 50 pounds.

“Really, the selfies for me had, aside from telling the story for other people’s benefit, for me, kept me honest. It kept me committed to the trail, and that’s why it was so important for me to take a photo every mile.”

Davidhazy says the trail has helped a lot of people find themselves, and encourages others to get out there in nature and escape trouble in their everyday lives.

He has created a website, LostOrFound.org, and hopes to make a short documentary about what he describes as ‘Re-entry into the real world’.
