Portland Red Cross volunteers heading to help victims of northern California wildfires

Posted: Updated:
PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Red Cross volunteers from Portland are heading to northern California to help communities ravaged by wildfires.

Roger and Janet Holen will act as government liasons for the Red Cross.

They’ll work with representatives from the other organizations and agencies to make sure everyone is on the same page and to let the Red Cross known what type of help is needed.

The Holens have volunteered for the Red Cross for 10 years and respond after natural disasters around the country.

Portland Red Cross volunteers also drove emergency response vehicles to northern California.

They will be used for outreach and to distribute food to affected communities.
