New teen community center opens in Portland

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A launch party was held Thursday for the Montavilla teen center in Portland.

Every day from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. the Montavilla community center will be transformed into a teen center.

It is free for kids ages 11-19 who have registered for a pass.

The teen center is a product of a proposal created by Mayor Charlie Hales to make more city facilities open to teens ‘free of charge’.

Kids can register for a pass at the center, all you need to bring is addresses and phone numbers for parents or guardians.
